We are all about supporting and showcasing some of the best local and independent wedding talent in the region. That’s really how and why Bride & Her was started.


What’s amazing about the area we live in, is that there is an abundance of independent local bridal and wedding vendors that can truly make magic, and our job at Bride & Her is to connect you with the people that are going to love what you do as much as we do.


Well some of you might know me and some may not. I’m Lu from Lu Lu Makeup. I’m a local makeup artist right here down the South Coast, like we all are.

What you might not know about me is that I have a background in digital marketing spanning a career over a decade. I worked for Volvo, Sony and in the Private Health and Finance industry, so I’ve learned a lot over the years and continue to love the digital space that just keeps growing.

I’m also a mum of two girls and a lover of the wedding industry. Switching from digital marketing back to makeup artistry was a breath of fresh air as my family is my life and you know sometimes you just need a change. Ever since I started my own little makeup business right here in the Illawarra, it has got me buzzing how much local talent there is in this area we live in.

That buzz soon turned into an itch, which turned into, “I have to help showcase some of these amazing local wedding talents”, and that is how Bride & Her was born.


I get it. I know it’s hard to grow your own business because I’m a wedding vendor just like you. I also know it’s hard to figure out where to spend your dollars to ramp up exposure in a very busy market. The one thing I’m confident in is that there is an abundance of talent it our area, whether you’re a florist, photographer, celebrant or makeup artist, the South Coast & Southern Highlands region has some of the best in the business.

That’s what is different about the Bride & Her platform than any other. It’s here to showcase the talent in this area, from Wollongong to Bateman’s Bay and all through the Southern Highlands, the site is dedicated to marketing our home growth talent. We also support small independent online stores.



I want to help showcase my talented colleagues!

That’s really how it all started. I wanted to help create a community platform so couples can find out how many talented wedding vendors there are in our area.

Couples want to find local vendors but struggle to find them.

I know this because I’m asked all the time for other wedding vendor recommendations.

I’m constantly looking at the wedding industry in our area with my marketing spectacles and there is a need for a platform like this, a platform that is region specific, not national. The marketer in me will continue to monitor and grow the site with that in mind.

When I said it’s all about you I meant it.

This platform is affordable because I know, just like you, that we all can’t throw money at a wall and see what sticks.
